Renowned children’s writer Ali Imam passed away. He breathed his last on Monday (November 21) after being ill for a long time. His son Dr. confirmed the death Antu .

Ali Imam was born on December 31, 1950 in Brahmanbaria. He lived with his whole family in Thataribazar of old Dhaka. Ali Imam has so far written about 200 books and authored about 40 books. Child psychology, thrill and humanity come up in his stories. He writes in simple language. His writings include science fiction, thriller novels and historical works. Ali Imam was General Manager of Bangladesh Television and retired from the service in 2006. Ali Imam has received many awards for his overall contribution to Bangladesh’s children’s literature, besides the Bangla Academy Literary Award (2001) and the Shishu Academy Children’s Literature Award (2012).
