Everything is as before in the wilderness of Nandankanan Nuhashpalli located in Piruzali village of Gazipur Sadar Upazila; Not only is its creator Humayun Ahmed. Today Wednesday marks 11 years since the death of legendary fiction writer and popular filmmaker Humayun Ahmed in the literary arena of Bangladesh.
On this day in 2012, he breathed his last at Bellevue Hospital in New York, far away from his beloved country, due to cancer. However, he is still alive in the hearts of readers by creating numerous popular characters like Himu, Misir Ali, Shubhra in his own writings. On the 11th anniversary of Humayuntirtha’s death, many devotees will pay floral tributes at his tomb in Nuhashpalli, Gazipur today. Humayun’s relatives, friends, well-wishers and publishers will also come. There are Koran Khatam, Doa Mahfil and food distribution program among orphans. Humayun Ahmed will be remembered in various programs in Qutubpur of Kendua Upazila of Natrakona.
