The National Poetry Festival is returning to the stage

After being closed for two years due to the pandemic, the National Poetry Festival is returning to the stage with the slogan ‘Bangla’s freedom is my poetry’.

Jatiya Kavita Parishad, organizer of poetry festival, is holding a press conference at Dhaka University’s TSC.

The 35th edition of this festival will be held on February 1 and 2 at the Central Library premises of Dhaka University.

National Poetry Council highlighted various aspects of this year’s organization in a press conference at Dhaka University’s TSC on Tuesday.

The press conference was chaired by the president of the council, poet Muhammad Samad. General Secretary Tariq Sujat read out the written statement.

He said, “The motto of our poetry festival this year is – ‘Bangla’s independence is my poetry’. We will embody this slogan through poetry readings, devotional poems, seminars, recitals and music at the festival.

As always, this time the venue of the festival has been decided at the Hakim Chatter of the Central Library premises of Dhaka University. Poets from various South Asian countries including India, Nepal and Maldives will participate in the festival. The ‘National Poetry Parishad Award’ will be announced at the festival.
